POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES: The Department of Indigenous Cultures and the Graduate Institute of Ethnic Relations and Culture invite applicants for three (3) open-rank faculty positions in the humanities and social sciences, beginning February 1, 2008. We are seeking applicants who do research in indigenous or ethnic cultural studies, with any of the following disciplinary backgrounds: indigenous art, ethnomusicology, psychology, history, religious studies, anthropology, or sociology. |

| Since the establishment of the Taiwan Studies Program in 1999, the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) has become one of the leading centres for Taiwan Studies in the world. We now offer the only MA in Taiwan Studies outside of Taiwan, PhD supervision in a wide range of disciplines and regular Taiwan studies academic events. |

Founded in 1990, the Conference Group on Taiwan Studies (CGOTS), affiliated with the American Political Science Association, aims to promote Taiwan area studies in the mainstream political science community, to assist Chinese political scientist from Taiwan in their professional development and to facilitate the development and growth of an integrated academic community among ROC political scientists and U.S.-based scholars with a substantial research interest in Taiwan.
